Interested Students and Collaborators
UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS
Undergraduate and graduate students at Oregon State University are integral components of the Lesmeister Lab. Undergraduate opportunities involve working at the Forestry Sciences Laboratory on campus and include the potential for in-the-field research experience. Graduate students are typically co-advised by Damon Lesmeister and a university professor, and will focus on one particular research objective.
THINK THIS MIGHT BE YOU?Prospective undergraduate students should be pursuing a degree in a related field of study, preferably in the life sciences. Interest in, and general knowledgeable about, the research conducted at the Lesmeister Lab is a requirement. If this sounds like you, please contact us.
Exceptional graduate research candidates are those with a diversity of life experiences, a solid academic record in biology or a related field, and wildlife research experience that extends outside the classroom. Strong quantitative skills, interest in learning quantitative methods, and the capacity to use both in dynamic ways is a must. Student researchers are supported by the lab throughout their tenure and given opportunities to present findings at scientific meetings. If you meet these qualifications, please contact us.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH SCIENTISTS
A small number of postdoctoral researchers play an important role in conducting research with the lab. Interested candidates should be confident using a variety of quantitative methods to analyze data and have experience facilitating wildlife research. They should hold a masters degree in a related field. If your interests align with the research pursuits of the Lesmeister Lab, please contact us to schedule time to discuss current or future opportunities. The lab typically supports one to two post-doctoral researchers at a time.
